The Division conducts research in the broadly understood field of physics didactics. This research in particular focuses on the issues of multimedia support of the processes of teaching and learning physics as well as the role of history and methodology in educating physics teachers.
The members of the Division simultaneously conduct and take part in the work of creating and modernizing physics curricula at various education levels, as well as developing concepts and implementing changes in training future physics teachers.
An equally important activity of the PED is educating students – future physics teachers. As part of courses preparing for the teaching profession the Division members provide education in the basics of didactics and subject matter didactics. Moreover, the PED supports further training of physics and science teachers at different education levels. It also undertakes many initiatives aimed at increasing interest in physics and popularizing physics and physics studies among school youth.
